The tread pattern is a very important area of the tyre as it has direct contact with the road. There are three types of tread patterns in passenger car tyres and all of them have different performance capabilities as they are specially designed for certain usage.
Symmetrical Tread Pattern
In a Symmetric tread pattern, the inner and outer half are equal and the same. the design of the grooves and blocks is on both sides of the tread. It is perfect if you have short journeys or usage is for daily life as in a symmetrical tread pattern the tread is narrowed in a wave pattern. This certain tread pattern does not perform well on wet surfaces because the design is not suitable for water dispersion.
Directional Tread Pattern
If your driving route is off-road and you want a better performance of your car on wet surfaces then directional tread pattern tires are suggested. The tread of the tire is widely in V-shape that disperses the water easily and holds the grip on the road properly. This pattern is a little noisier on the road in comparison to the symmetrical pattern tires.
Asymmetrical Tread Pattern
In this, one side of the tread on the tyre is designed completely differently. It is designed specially to reduce the noise on the road and is excellent in wet conditions. This type is also a little bit expensive in comparison with the other two.
